The BEST Steak Ever!


Let me show you how my husband makes the best steaks I’ve ever eaten.  This is actually how many 5 star restaurants cook their steaks.


First he seasons them, of course.  This seasoning is just a blend of salt, pepper and garlic powder. 


Next he puts them in vacuum seal bags and removes all the air from them.  Now if you don’t have this little gadget, you can also use zip lock bags and lower in water until all the air is removed then seal.


After that, he places on a rack in this big tub of water.  When we are only cooking 2 steaks, he just uses a big pot.  The tub is completely optional but comes in handy when we are cooking for more than just us.


He sets the Sous Vide to 134 degrees and then they cook for at least an hour but they can sit there for several hours and won’t overcook. 


After that, he removes them and gives them an ice bath for a couple minutes to lower the temperature just a little.

Then pats them dry to remove any excess moisture.


His favorite way to sear them is to place on a rack in a skillet and use his torch.  You could also pop on the grill or in a hot skillet.


I topped mine with butter and parmesan cheese.  Absolutely the BEST steak I’ve ever eaten.
